You can choose the template for a new domain. For more information, please visit Domains and Accounts > Global Settings > Templates tab.

To modify the settings of an existing domain, select the Domains and Accounts > Management, then go to the domain you wish to modify.

Whether you are creating a new domain or modifying an existing one you will see the settings panels for the domain on the right.

Be aware that one of your domains must be assigned as the primary domain. The primary domain administrator is also regarded as the server administrator and any system messages (license warnings, system reports, etc.) will be sent to this account.

You can change the primary domain if you select a certain domain and go to Accounts >Set as primary domain.

The primary domain is always listed first in the domain list. The option to set it as the primary domain is inactive. Other domains are listed in alphabetical order, see the example below where the primary domain is icewarpdemo.com.

Note: Functionally, there is no difference between the primary and secondary domains. However, within a single server, you can send messages to the primary domain without specifying the domain name.
For example: sending a message to some-user, would route the message to some-user@icewarpdemo.com (which is the primary domain in the example above).

Warning: Taking into account information in the note, we do not recommend creating users with the same user name on the same server, even if they are in different domains. Since, if the domain is not specified before sending, the message may come to the wrong recipient.

Tip: In case during migration some accounts might not be created, the messages to them will be lost and the error unknown user - rejecting will be generated. To track missing accounts, consider creating a dummy primary domain without users, just with an administrator set. All important system emails come to the administrator, therefore the error message will come to the administrator as well.

A domain name is not the same as a hostname. If you have a secondary domain and you want to connect your users to it, you must have both A and MX DNS records set up.

Note: Do not forget that templates can be set up to use the same settings for new accounts, see Account Templates.

Clicking Domain information at the bottom of Administration Console opens the Information tab that summarizes domain settings.
